Increased strength is also achieved by the 8620 carbon steel to prolong the life of the grooves. The PXG 0311 Gen4 T Steel Irons have a shorter blade length and minimal offset. The narrower sole makes it easier to control the clubface at impact. The Tour-inspired design allows for great workability and shot-shaping.

The new Xtreme Dark finish in the 0311 GEN4 irons features a black diamond-like carbon finish, an implementation that yields a lustrous appearance. The matte-black veneer for the latest PXG 0311 GEN4 irons was achieved by a three-layer ionization process, DLC (diamond-like carbon) is a dense, graphite-like, carbon-based coating that is applied to the external portion of the club head. The glaze has been utilized in an assortment of high-wear resistance technologies, including fuel injection systems, and is known for its resilience.
